Akuvox AI Team Ranks Top 2 in the Face Anti-spoofing Workshop and Challenge@CVPR2024

2024-06-19

Xiamen, China, Jun. 19, 2024 - The Akuvox AI Team achieved second place in the CVPR 2024 Face Anti-Spoofing Challenge, demonstrating its top-tier expertise in computer vision and AI. The CVPR 2024 conference and award ceremony, held on June 17 in Seattle, USA, brought together industry leaders and experts.

Premier Computer Vision Workshop and Challenge

The CVPR, organized by the IEEE, is a premier academic conference in computer vision and pattern recognition. Known in full as the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, it stands alongside the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) and the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) as one of the three major conferences in this field. It showcases cutting-edge technologies and the latest research achievements in computer vision and pattern recognition, supporting pioneering research in AI, machine learning (ML), augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality (AR/VR/MR), and deep learning.

The Akuvox AI Team participated in the fifth Face Anti-Spoofing Challenge, an international competition focused on advancing research in facial anti-spoofing technology. This challenge, regularly held at top computer vision conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc.), specifically addressed the detection of digital editing attacks and physical presentation attacks, aiming for comprehensive spoofing prevention techniques.

The fifth Face Anti-Spoofing Challenge featured two tracks: Unified Physical-Digital Face Attack Detection and Snapshot Spectral Imaging Face Anti-Spoofing. The Akuvox AI Team secured second place in the first track from February 2 to March 3. The team also achieved third place in the second track, which ran from February 29 to March 31, balancing the demands of competition coding, paper writing, and internal algorithm development and optimization.

Face Anti-Spoofing Technology

Facial recognition is a high-precision biometric identification technology widely used in identity verification, mobile payments, and smart security. Also known as Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) or Face Liveness Detection, this technology is susceptible to spoofing attacks using printing, replay, and 3D mask attacks, which pose significant security risks. Akuvox’s high-end facial recognition door phones like the X915, X912 and S539 feature industry-leading facial recognition and liveness detection technologies to ensure residential entry security.
